The Department of Supply Chain Management at the International Hellenic University takes pride in the dynamic collaborations it has developed over more than twenty years of operation with social partners to promote social welfare and sustainable development. Through various initiatives, the Department collaborates with organizations from the broader public sector, private enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and the local community. These collaborations foster research, education, and innovative approaches aimed at addressing social challenges. With a commitment to creating social value, the university strives to enhance dialogue and the mutual exchange of knowledge for a sustainable and just future.
For instance, the Department maintains excellent collaborative relationships with representatives of social, cultural, and productive bodies in the region, such as the Regional Unit of Pieria, the Municipality of Katerini, the Municipality of Dion-Olympos, the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Pieria, the Holy Metropolis of Katerini, Kitros and Platamon, the Pieria Chamber of Commerce, the German-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and the Thessaloniki Port Authority. Through these collaborations, the Department aims to transfer its expertise in education, research, and development, as well as to provide auxiliary and advisory services to assist the decision-making processes of its partnering social stakeholders.
Indicative collaboration activities
With the aim of strengthening systematic collaboration between the Department and social stakeholders in the wider region, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed with the following entities: the Regional Unit of Pieria, the Municipality of Katerini, the Holy Metropolis of Katerini, Kitros and Platamon, the Institute of Bio-economy and Agri-technology of the National Centre for Research and Technological Development, the German-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and the Thessaloniki Port Authority.
