Athanasios Kelemis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management at the International Hellenic University (IHU). Mr. Kelemis was born in 1959 in Katerini. After studying Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin and being awarded a PhD in Engineering by the same university, he began his professional career in Germany at the Technical University of Berlin as an Assistant Professor in the field of Computer Science. He later worked as a business consultant in the design and development of computer applications for the banking sector. He served as Deputy General Manager and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of a consulting company in Germany for eight years, focusing on business organization and the development of enterprise information systems. He has also taught as an Honorary Professor at the University of Lübeck. His research areas include distributed systems and internet applications in commerce and the economy. In 2002, he assumed the position of Director of the Northern Greece Branch of the German–Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and at the same time served as the representative of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) in Greece for technology transfer and know-how in the fields of environment and energy between Greece and Germany. Since October 2012, he has been the General Manager of the German–Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and a member of its Board of Directors since September 2013.
