3D-SustainDrugs

Sustainable Production of 3D-Printed Medicines

07.2025 – 05.2026

The 3D-SustainDrugs project focuses on applying innovative technological approaches, grounded in the principles of sustainability and digitalization, to develop a new platform for 3D-printed, personalized delivery systems for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The goal is to leverage Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing for the development and production of personalized NSAID dosage forms, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and technological innovation. A key objective is to create new pharmaceutical dosage forms using novel polymer filaments, manufactured through environmentally friendly methods. In parallel, the project aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the production process, optimize energy efficiency, advance personalized pharmacotherapy, and assess the socio-economic implications of adopting this technology.
