The Department of Supply Chain Management belongs to the School of Economics and\nBusiness Administration and is located in the city of Katerini, Greece. The mission of the\nDepartment is to educate, train, and provide all the necessary skills to its students so that upon\ngraduation, they can become professionals and business executives with responsibilities\nincluding, amongst others, the design, planning, implementation, and control of operations\nwithin the Supply Chain Management and Logistics fields. Such operations transcend the entire\nvalue chain of transforming raw materials, which are received from upstream suppliers, into\nfinished products, which are offered to downstream customers. Indicative supply chain\noperations include procurement, materials handling, inventory management, order processing,\nwarehousing, packaging, transportation, spare parts management, repairs, customer service,\nhandling of returned products, reuse of products or components, recycling, waste disposal,\ncircularity of materials, and more.<\/p>

Supply Chain Management extends beyond the boundaries of a single enterprise to include the\nmanagement of all material, energy, waste, and monetary flows in a supply network, from\nsuppliers to end consumers. In addition, Supply Chain Management embraces the coordination\nand cooperation with all stakeholders within a supply network, including: raw material\nsuppliers, transporters, producers\/manufacturers, distribution centers, wholesalers, retailers,\nand consumers. Supply Chain Management integrates and orchestrates the planning,\nprocurement, production, storage, transportation, and sales within and between organizations,\nand it pertains to all types of products or services such as agricultural products, water,\npharmaceuticals, petroleum, industrial products, and more. It is, therefore, part of the daily life\nof all people.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Department offers many compulsory courses that may have been introduced for the first time in Greek Higher Education, including: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems,\nCustomer Relationship Management (CRM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and\nWarehouse Management Systems (WMS), as well as courses with very modern and dynamic\ncontent, such as Reverse Logistics and Green Supply Chain Management.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Over the past five years, the Department has been at the forefront of innovation and\ncollaboration by leading or participating in numerous research projects, forging essential\npartnerships with various domestic or foreign educational institutions, as well as with social\norganizations and businesses at the forefront of cutting-edge technology.
