Erasmus+ is the EU Program for the period 2021-2027 that covers the fields of education, training, youth, and sport. High-quality education and training, as well as informal learning, equip participants with the qualifications and skills required for meaningful participation in democratic society, intercultural understanding, and successful transition to the labor market.

Objectives of the Erasmus Program 2021-2027

Inclusion and Diversity: Higher Education Institutions, in order to provide access to students and staff in accordance with the principles of the Erasmus Charter (ECHE), must ensure equal and fair access and opportunities for current and future participants from all backgrounds. This includes integrating individuals with fewer opportunities. For a detailed definition of individuals with fewer opportunities, please refer to the Program Guide.

Environmental Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Practices: According to the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), Higher Education Institutions must promote environmentally friendly practices in all activities related to the Program. This includes using sustainable means of transportation for mobility, taking measures to organize events in a more eco-friendly manner, and replacing paper-based administrative processes with digital procedures. Additionally, institutions are encouraged to increase participants' awareness about measures they can take while abroad to reduce their carbon footprint and the environmental impact of their mobility.

Digitization – Digital Education and Skills: According to the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), Higher Education Institutions are required to implement digital management of student mobility in accordance with the technical standards of the European Student Card initiative. Institutions should promote blended mobility, combining physical and virtual activities, to offer more flexible mobility options and further enhance learning outcomes and the impact of physical mobility.
